Welcome and thank you for visiting our blog. The British Heart Foundation Jersey Branch was established in 1972 to support the life saving research of the BHF. We have created this page to help Islanders keep up to date with local events, activities and ways in which you can support our local fight against heart disease.
Here at BHF Jersey, we value our amazing volunteers and fundraisers so much, so when Victoria came to me to say she had signed up to the Madagascar Trek due to take place in October 2019, I was blown away by both her passion for raising as much money as she could as well as her bravery to take on this immense challenge! Here is Victoria's story...
"In October 2019 I am taking part in a challenging 6 day Trek in Madagascar to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation Jersey.
The trek itself is for 6 days and rated as a 'tough challenge', with daytime spent trekking through various terrain through the Andringitra National Park and each evening setting up our own basic camps along the way. The trek also sees us climbing the 2nd highest peak in Madagascar, Pic Imarivolanitra!
My reasons for supporting the British Heart Foundation? Recently, I have learnt a lot about the awful effects of heart failure, and about other heart diseases which can be extremely debilitating, and also extremely stressful for both the person suffering and for those close to them. With certain people in mind, I have chosen The British Heart Foundation Jersey.
