Welcome and thank you for visiting our blog. The British Heart Foundation Jersey Branch was established in 1972 to support the life saving research of the BHF. We have created this page to help Islanders keep up to date with local events, activities and ways in which you can support our local fight against heart disease.
Several “money can’t buy” experiences are up for auction as part of the Jersey Heart Awards 2017, including the chance to cycle with an Olympic Gold Medalist, opening ceremony tickets to the Cannes Film Festival and a VIP Ed Sheeran or Take That experience.
The Jersey Heart Awards, taking place at the Pomme d’Or Hotel on Saturday 4th March, have been designed by the British Heart Foundation to recognize the outstanding contribution of Islanders playing a leading role in the local fight against cardiovascular disease, one of Jersey’s biggest killers. The 2017 awards are to be hosted by ITV presenter Jess Dunsdon and are primarily here to raise awareness and congratulate Islanders for their amazing achievements. The charity is however excited to also be able to offer the opportunity to win a variety of exciting prizes through an online public auction and exclusive raffle on the night.
The auction itself is being hosted online and is live from today, 20th February until 1am on Sunday 5th March. This means that even those who can’t attend the event in person can bid for a chance to win one of these amazing prizes. Each item has a reserve price and the winners will be contacted by text when the auction closes to confirm that they have won their lot. To see more details of the prizes up for auction and how to bid, please visitwww.jerseyheartawards.org.uk.
The online auction is made possible thanks to the kind sponsorship of local business Ravenscroft Stockbroking & Investment Management. Spokesperson Katy Sandrey, Head of Marketing, commented “Ravenscroft is happy to support such a great local cause for what it shaping up to be a truly magical evening designed to celebrate an amazing group of Islanders who have joined the fight against heart disease. This online auction adds a whole new dynamic by allowing members of the public to participate – even if they can’t make the event themselves. These prizes offer experiences & memories which will last a lifetime.”

Heart and circulatory disease claims the lives of around 155,000 people in the Channel Islands and the UK each year. Every pound raised will help the BHF fulfil its ambition to fund half a billion pounds of life saving heart research over the next five years, and bringing us ever closer to beating heart disease.
