Welcome and thank you for visiting our blog. The British Heart Foundation Jersey Branch was established in 1972 to support the life saving research of the BHF. We have created this page to help Islanders keep up to date with local events, activities and ways in which you can support our local fight against heart disease.
Victoria College's Health and Safety Site manager, Lee Vallois, contacted the Jersey Heart Support Group requesting an AED for their busy Cricket Pavilion where a large number of people attend especially on weekends.
The Headmaster, Alun Watkins, was very supportive in raising the funds to cover the cost of an Outdoor Cabinet.
The Jersey Heart Support Group committee were very pleased to assist in the process by donating another Life Saving AED especially being accessible 24/7.
The presentation was made on 29th June by a JHSG committee member, Richard Collision, who had been a school master there for a total of 36 years.
Over the last three years the JHSG have presented 35 AEDs to Island schools, 2 to Community First Responders, 6 to States Police cars with more to follow.
The Jersey Heart Support Groups current aim is to locate many Defibrillators in accessible cabinets especially out of town where every minute counts in an emergency to restarting a heart.
